  2. Use the list of all plugins that were active (created in step C1 above) to activate the plugins one at a time (or in the newer version activate all recent plugin) to ensure they are compatible
  3. Check your site

That’s it, it is easy and will not take more than 30 minutes to do the while thing. If you need us to do this, there is a service fee that includes troubleshooting bugs that are not plugin related (plugin issues should be addressed to the plugin authors).

  1. This is a great post, I updated everything with no problem at all (see http://www.nostatus.com/btard/geek/01-2007/wordpress-upgrade-to-21/).

I am wondering if there is a niche out there for someone to charge people $$$ for installing a WordPress upgrade?! Ha, kinda half and half a joke.

  2. @ Carlo

I am sure there is a niche user base that can follow the instructions but not do the upgrade themselves only because they do not feel comfortable working with database and such, the fear of screwing thing up I guess. I totally understand that and hence offer this service :-)

  3. That was fantastic a so easy to do. Thank you for an easy lesson in upgrading.

  4. Thank you for the instructions, I just ran into a problem where the new wordpress is requiring a mysql version higher than the one we have on our server. Time to upgrade server first.

  5. Hi Need to know how to expand (widen) the fall season theme in wordpress please. Any help greatly appreciated.
